2025-2026 Enrichment programs support grade-level curriculum and allow children to enjoy learning through performances, presentations, and hands-on experiences throughout the school year.
These programs are 100% funded by PTO.
Pumpkin Patch
October - The kindergarten will support their curriculum again this year with a pumpkin patch.
Vegetable Circus
January - Vegetable Circus uses circus arts to teach children and adults creative and exciting ways to live healthily. Their goal is to introduce children and adults to healthy, confidence-raising activities that support their development.
Magnets
April - The Discovery Museum will return for our kindergartners this year to present their workshop "Magnets." Students explore how distance, orientation, size, and strength impact the behavior of magnets.
Tanglewood Marionettes
May - Tanglewood Marionettes are a national touring marionette theater based in New England. They will return to Houghton to perform for our kindergarten through second grade students.
Davis Farmland
June - Kindergarteners will end their year with a visit to the popular Davis Farmland where they will enjoy a tour of the discovery farm, and fun with friends!

May - First graders will be visiting the Hanover Theater to see a musical production of "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!"
Sound Program
May - Students are introduced to the concept of sound as vibration that travels in waves through gas, liquids, and solids. Students play with pitch and resonance as they create and engage with unique sound makers made from common household materials.

Physical Changes in Matter
April - The Discovery Museum will return this year to present their workshop "Physical Changes in Matter." Students will investigate the physical properties of solids, liquids, and gases through hands-on learning.

Lights & Lasers
May - As students compare white light and lasers, they identify key properties of light. Interacting with flashlights, prisms, lenses, and a variety of materials that block, reflect, or allow light to pass through, sharpens their understanding.
Nature's Classroom
May - Fourth graders will return this year to Nature's Classroom, with the opportunity to be outside for the day a learn about their environment.
