Fundraisers

Houghton PTO works to raise funds in support of our school, students, and teachers. We have several fundraisers throughout the year, which fund enrichment programs, support the school library, and assist in the classroom.

Mums Sale

In September we kick of the new school year selling mums in our Mum Fall Fundraiser. A variety of colors and sizes are available, with pick up taking place at Dimeco's Landscapes.

Boosterthon Fun Run

The Houghton Boosterthon is our biggest and most successful fundraising event in which all of the students of Houghton participate in a fun glow run in the gymnasium.

Taking place in November, this is 9-day fitness, leadership, and character-based program. Students Running for a Leader Launch themed event eight days before the Boosterthon Fun Run event begins, students will learn about this year’s character theme, World Changer Workshop.

Each day brings a new character action to learn and another day closer to the Boosterthon Fun Run event. Our fun, fitness event will Encourage your children to let loose, be active and Play with their classmates!

All parents are invited to join us by attending the event and cheering on students as they run an average of 30-35 laps around the Boosterthon Speedway. The Boosterthon Fun Run event is also designed to Celebrate every student learning valuable character and leadership principles while helping their school.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair visits our school for a week in March, raising money for our school library and celebrating literature! Using funds raised during our 2026 Candyland themed Scholastic Book Fair, we were able to purchase over 300 new books for Houghton's library. Additionally, we were able to complete our teachers' classroom book wishlists. Thank you to our Houghton Families for their support of the 2026 Book Fair, and to all of our hardworking volunteers who helped make it happen, including our amazaing Book Fair Committee, Tracy Papagano and Jen Skorinko!

Ongoing Fundraisers

Other ongoing fundraising includes Mabel's Labels. Prevent the pileup in the school’s lost and found! Order your highly recommended waterproof labels from Mabel’s Labels; the school gets 20% back on every order!

Box Tops for Education, is an ongoing fundraiser that earns us money off of products you already buy! Get the app, scan your receipts and the school earns $0.10 for every qualifying product. This can be used at any grocery chain, including Walmart and BJs! Last year this earned us over $500, help us do it again this year!
